Sarwat Kaluby – Owner of Kalubys Dance Studios

Mr. Kaluby started dancing at the age of seven in Cairo at the academy of art, classically trained by the Bolshoi and the Kirov theatre where he received his BA and MA in Choreography. He has directed as many as four clubs and three major championships. Mr. Kaluby received third place in world in the second world competition in Japan. He coaches and choreographs for some of the worlds leading couples, he is also a world renowned adjudicator and examiner. Mr Kaluby danced with many ballet and ballroom companies among some of which: The Paris Opera House, The Metropolitan Opera House and the American Ballroom Theater.

Magdalena Piekarz - Studio Manager

Magdalena began her dancing journey at the age of seven in Poland, where she quickly discovered her passion for ballroom. Since then, she has won many National ballroom titles and has placed fourth in the World in American Smooth. Today, her extensive dance background includes expertise as a professional instructor and competitor in the four primary ballroom styles: American Smooth, American Rhythm, International Standard, and International Latin. She has achieved many dance certifications, including multiple recognitions from the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD). She has done promotional appearances for “Dancing with the Stars” and has been a finalist on TV’s “America ‘s Ballroom Challenge”. Magdalena recently retired from her competitive career, but because of her love of teaching dance, she continues to share her expertise with her wonderful students in the Jacksonville area.

Daniel Nicolaescu was born in Bucharest, Romania. At the age of 4 he came to the United States of America. Daniel has been in the entertainment business for many years and started working for Kaluby’s Dance Club a few years ago. Since then he has participated as a professional dance instructor in many studio events, showcases and competitions. He is certified in American Style Ballroom and Rhythm and several other dances. He has a professional dance partner and has placed top three in several local competitions. He has coached with many nationally and locally recognized professionals. He is now competing locally and nationally recognized competitions.

Laurie specializes in American Smooth & Rhythm dance styles. Her background also includes country western dancing. Dancing is her passion and whether you are learning for the first time or need your wedding dance choreographed, she can make it fun and easy at the same time.

Katie is a professional dance teacher with 18 years in the business. She started her career at 3 years old as a gymnast and a couple of years later transferred to ballroom dancing. In Estonia she competed and won many national competitions. She is certified in American Style Ballroom and Rhythm, Night Club, Latin social and International 10 dances. She is also a professional make-up artist and hairdresser with multiple certifications from Europe.

Sven is a former 10 Dance Champion with over 100 International competitions and 23 years in the business.  He is certified in the International 10 Dance, American Style Ballroom and Rhythm, Night club and Latin social dances.
Sven has certifications from the United States Terpsichore Association, Pro DVIDA, Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, Finnish Sport Dance Association, Estonian Dance Sport Association and Estonian Olympic Committee. His students have become finalists in Blackpool. He is a Licensed Judge in Europe and in the U.S.
Sven acquired his Bachelor’s Degree in Choreography and Dance in Europe and has been Directing and Choreographing musical theatre productions ever since. His previous accomplishments include Kiss Me Kate, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, Aladdin Jr., Dracula the Musical, Grease, Man Of La Mancha, 42nd street, Annie and Cinderella.

Rachel is our studio’s Jacksonville local. She has been dancing for over 12 years. Her dance experience includes lyrical, ballet, tap, jazz all the way to belly dancing. But ballroom dancing stole her heart. She is trained in all American styles of dance but her strong suit is Rhythm. Salsa being what she is known most for.

Andy Bradfield fell in love with dancing when he was just a little boy but never had the opportunity to express it until he was High School.  Andy merged his love of dance and music and joined a Pop Ensemble; within one year of finally realizing his dream he started choreographing his Broadway style performances for competitive Show Choirs and started competing himself.  After that, Andy’s competitive nature took over and he started looking at other styles of dance that he could have fun, perform, and compete in. Once it was obvious that ballroom dance was Andy’s calling he began to share the love of dance with others.  “To this day, my biggest accomplishment is to have changed someone’s life through dance.”
